I'm a Trust Supremacist

In a world that rewards fear, I choose something radical: trust. ✨

I proudly declare myself… a trust supremacist.
I trust my fellow humans are looking out for one another.
I trust I can walk down the street alone — or through the park — without worry.
I trust I can enter public or private spaces without being on guard.
I trust doors and windows can stay unlocked — and property respected.
I trust I can speak my mind without being falsely accused — and that difference is not a threat, nor threats excused in the name of “free speech”.
I trust our institutions to serve the greater good, not just the interests of a few.
I trust laws are upheld fairly, and the social contract still means something.
I trust truth is treasured — even when it hurts.
I trust that human decency will outshine incivility, apathy, and cruelty.
Yes, I know trust has been broken — again and again.
But I refuse to let fear steer my life.
I refuse to shrink into silence, even when trust feels naïve — or unpopular.
Because I trust… that societies built on trust will remember the beauty of our ways. ✨
Being a trust supremacist isn’t naïve.
It isn’t offensive.
It’s a declaration — of what we value, of what we refuse to lose.
And it’s how we rebuild what cynicism tried to destroy.
So tell me — will you choose fear… or are you a Trust Supremacist too?
(Side note: This piece was written after I woke up to another morning of fear, violence, and small acts of selfishness paraded as normal. When a society stops being shocked by cruelty and incivility, its immune system is already failing.
This is why I made my declaration: I am a proud Trust Supremacist — a reminder that trusting is not weakness, unless we let it be.)
